Robert D. Sumner Memorial Golf Tournament: The tournament is a fundraiser for the Pioneer Florida Museum and Village, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Florida's pioneer heritage. The tourney was named after Sumner, who was a trustee at the museum for many years and who served as a fundraising chairman for the museum. 8:30 a.m. $50 per player, includes golf and lunch. 'Living Well with a Chronic Illness': Pasco Palliative Care will provide this community presentation, which includes an "Ask the Experts" panel discussion. The presentation will be given by Dr. Charles Suggs III, a board-certified physician at Pasco Palliative Care. It will include information about palliative care, including the criteria for receiving care, what qualifies as a chronic condition and how palliative care can work with one's current doctors. Substance Abuse Prevention Conference: Hosted by the Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention and BayCare Behavioral Health, the theme of this year's conference is "Strengthening Our Communities: Opportunities for Action." The keynote speaker will be Andy Duran, executive director of Linking Efforts Against Drugs. Afterward, there will be a panel discussion on the needs of people in recovery and how to prevent relapse.
