Rasoi Indian Cuisine, launched its grand opening Saturday (Nov. 4) as the only Indian restaurant in Ybor City.

Located at 1701 E Eighth Ave., the traditional restaurant cooks authentic Indian food with the finest spices and ingredients imported from India.

"We’ve been searching for the last two years, but couldn’t find that spark with other places," owner Boruah Manashi said. "We wanted somewhere with entertainment so when we saw that with this location, we decided this is the best place."

According to Manashi, people are craving Indian food in this area but are traveling too far to get it. They want something close in their neighborhood, and are very excited for their opening.

Its name, Rasoi, means "kitchen" which they believe is the heart of every home. They are best known for their unique culinary essence of the Indian culture through a variety of dishes made with real Indian spices not found in the United States.

Highlighted menu items include the chicken tikki masala, which is cooked in their signature, homemade mother sauce, made from a combination of spices.

The menu also features a variety of dishes and vegetarian specials.

Rasoi will have a champagne brunch on weekends and hopes to add happy hours as well.

Prices range from $17 to $20 and they are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Monday through Friday The lunch buffet runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 11:30 to 3 p.m. on the weekends.

For dinner, they are open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m, Sunday through Thursday, and from 5 pm to 10:30 pm Friday and Saturday.
