RECOMMENDED READING

TAMPA — The Florida State Fair will spur thoughts of its annual February event in November when it offers a special bargain this week.

The fair authority stages a "flash sale" package at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 8), offering customers a chance to purchase a mega pass good for admission and unlimited rides for the entire 12 days of the Florida State Fair for only $75.

Only a limited number of passes will be on sale.

"We have had requests for multi-day passes for several years so we are very excited to offer the Mega Pass for the first time ever," said Cheryl Flood, executive director of the Florida State Fair. "We are so glad we are able to provide an affordable way to make lifelong memories for our Florida residents."

People can purchase the flash sale combo package by visiting the Florida State Fair Facebook page at facebook.com/floridastatefairgrounds. Fair officials tout the new ticket option for the 2018 Florida State Fair as a savings of more than $500.

"Now that we are moving into the holiday season, giving the experience of the fair makes a truly a great holiday gift for any person on your shopping list," Flood said.

The flash sale launches exactly three months before the fair kicks off on Feb. 8. The fair will run through Feb. 19 and feature a mix of mix of exhibits, animals, midway rides, lawn mower races, rodeos and food galore.

"There really is something for everyone — whether you like rides, fair food, agriculture, Florida history or our artisan market — we have it all," Flood said.
