311, Rebelution playing private craft beer parties at the Ritz Ybor; here's how to win tickets
And once again, you can only get in by winning tickets.
Rock Brothers Brewing is hosting private concerts by 311 and Rebelution on Feb. 28 and March 1, respectively, at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa. The two bands will be in town for the annual 311 Cruise, sailing from Tampa to Cozumel and back March 2-6.
The brewery -- which recently opened a new bar and small concert venue in Ybor City -- has long produced beers for both bands, 311 Amber Ale and Rebelution Feeling Alright IPA. The concerts are meant as a celebration of both products being available in cans. And just like that Hootie show, tickets aren't for sale -- you can only win entry.
For tickets, Florida residents only may register in person at Rock Brothers Brewing, 1901 N 15th St., Ybor City by Feb. 20. Random winners will receive two tickets and be notified by Feb. 25. That's it. That's the entire contest. But considering 311 and Rebelution normally play much larger venues than the Ritz, it might be worth your time to enter. Click here for all the details.
The 311 Cruise, meanwhile, is sold out -- but there are several events happening around town in the buildup to departure. On March 1, there are three free parties in Ybor City with 311 Amber Ale at all locations: Rock Brothers Brewing (8 to 9 p.m.), Crowbar (8:30 to 11:30 p.m. with music from the Movement and Bumpin' Uglies) and Big Easy (drink specials and BOGO wine specials). Finally, comic Doug Benson, who's also on the cruise, has a show at 8 p.m. that night at the Improv; tickets are $20. Click here for details on that show.
