For starters: Rays at Angels, with Cobb facing Ramirez
UPDATE, 7:20: There was a reason Ramos was out of the lineup; he felt a tweak in his left hamstring scoring in the 10th Friday. Cash said they hope he'll be fine with a couple days rest but is available in an emergency. .. INF Tim Beckham (left ankle sprain) was to go through one more workout before Saturday's game and if all is well is expceted to be activated. INF Taylor Featherston, who has an option, seems a likely candidate to be sent down.
UPDATE, 5:31: Jesus Sucre is behind the plate for the Rays tonight, and Shane Peterson is in LF.
And for the Angels:
DEVELOPING: The Rays are looking to secure another series win tonight when they take on the Angels, first pitch 9:07.
The Rays won the series and post-All-Star-break opener 2-1 in 10 innings on Friday, moving to a season-high five games over .500 at 48-43.
Tonight they will send veteran RHP Alex Cobb to the mound, Cobb having been on a pretty good roll and making more use of his changeup that was his primary out pitch before May 2015 Tommy John elbow surgery and has been the last to come back.
The Angels are starting RHP JC Ramirez. That seems like a change from announced starter RHP Jesse Chavez, but the Angels said it was merely a communications mix up.
Lineups when available.
