Video: Universal Orlando reveals new ride details for Fast and Furious – Supercharged

RECOMMENDED READING

Buckle up, Fast and Furious fans, Universal Orlando just revealed new details on its newest ride coming in 2018.

Fast and Furious – Supercharged aims to bring one of the highest grossest film franchises to life in a new high-octane ride experience. It all starts in the headquarters of the Fast family and ends with a high-speed chase away from criminal mastermind Owen Shaw (played by Luke Evans).

The Fast and Furious franchise is all about fast cars and the family of characters who drive them. Inside and outside the attraction will be a dozen cars from the films, including Dom's (Vin Diesel) iconic Dodge Charger and Letty's (Michelle Rodriguez) Turbo Truck, along with three vehicles created just for the ride.

You'll also get to encounter motion-capture creations of Mia (Jordana Brewster), Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Tej (Chris "Ludacris) Bridges) and Roman (Tyrese Gibson) alongside Dom, Letty and Owen Shaw.

Inside the attraction will be like stepping into the underground headquarters for the Fast family. The films' soundtrack plays as you make your way into the Family Room and Tej's high-tech War Room.

The ride itself is a simulation of an original story that puts you in a souped up party bus that Tej arranges to get you to a race after-party. As you make your way to the party, Dom calls to say Owen Shaw is headed your way. A high-speed chase ensues, as it does in all the Fast movies, so you'll have to rely on the family to get you to safety.

Like the park's Race Through New York starring Jimmy Fallon, the Fast and Furious ride will utilize Universal's virtual line system. Guests will be able to sign up for ride times on the Universal app or at kiosks outside the ride, then return to the attraction when their time is called.

Fast and Furious – Supercharged opens in the spring of 2018. Find information on park tickets and other attractions at universalorlando.com.
