Lil Wayne hospitalized after mile-high seizures
Lil Wayne’s private jet was forced to make two emergency landings at an Omaha, Neb., airport on Monday afternoon after the artist suffered multiple seizures on board.
The rapper first fell unconscious during a cross-country flight from Milwaukee to California but refused treatment from paramedics and returned to his jet. Minutes after the plane departed, Lil Wayne had a second seizure, was treated on board the plane and transported to the hospital via ambulance following a second emergency landing.
The same thing happened in 2012 when his private jet made emergency landings two days in a row. He suffered multiple seizures in 2013 as well, including one that was nearly fatal.
“This wasn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh… I have had a bunch of seizures, you just never hear about them,” he told Power 106’s DJ Felli Fel at the time “My heart rate went down to 30 percent. I have people around me who know how to handle it. This time was real bad because I had three back to back and the third one was so bad.”
Lil Wayne said he’s epileptic and stopped drinking lean — a Promethazine/Codeine syrup — because of his condition, but photos from his Milwaukee club appearance show he may have been sipping on sizzurp. TMZ reports he had six bottles of the stuff and drank three on his own.
As for Weezy’s current condition: “We can confirm that he did experience two minor seizures yesterday,” his rep told E! News. “Under the guidance of his own doctors, he is now in stable condition and good spirits. He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes.”
